Method

Shane Dawson launches ShaneDawsonTV in March 2008 at 19 and is one of the earliest partner program earners. Simon & Schuster publishes I Hate Myselfie in 2015 and It Gets Worse in July 2016, both sold at Target. The documentary series on Jeffree Star from 2018 leads to the Conspiracy palette in November 2019, which sells out on launch. The rung breaks on June 26, 2020: after his apology for blackface and comments about minors, Target pulls both books on June 29 and YouTube suspends monetization on all three channels on June 30. He returns in October 2021 with a reduced audience and no retail products.
