ColourPop is the Seed Beauty house brand that Laura and John Nelson launch in 2014 in Oxnard, made at Spatz Labs, the family contract manufacturer founded by their father that now produces only for Seed brands. It grows by sending free product to YouTube and Instagram creators and running collaborations, including a Zoella collection in February 2019 and a BTS line in July 2022. Sephora becomes its first retailer in November 2017 after three years online only, Ulta follows in 2018 and Target carries it in every store from 2023, where a 9 dollar body glitter is its top seller. It is the manufacturer owned counterpart to the creator owned brands it makes.
