Method
George Strompolos leaves the YouTube Partner Program team he helped build and founds Fullscreen in Los Angeles in January 2011 as a network that pairs ad share with software for channel management. The Chernin Group invests in May 2011, and in the autumn of 2014 Chernin's Otter Media joint venture with AT&T takes control; the same year Fullscreen buys Rooster Teeth and ScrewAttack. The roster includes Grace Helbig, the Fine Brothers and Tyler Oakley. A subscription app launched in 2016 closes in January 2018, Otter Media absorbs the remaining equity and Strompolos steps back in September 2018. Machinima's partners are handed to Fullscreen in January 2019, then WarnerMedia's November 2020 layoffs remove most of the team and end Fullscreen as an operating company; the brand disappears from AT&T's portfolio over the following year. The rung that breaks is ownership by a telecom that does not want an MCN.
