Joe Rogan buys the Ritz at 320 East Sixth Street in downtown Austin in 2022, a 1929 talking picture house that Alamo Drafthouse ran as its flagship from 2007 until its 2021 bankruptcy. Architect Richard Weiss converts it in 2023 and it opens as the Comedy Mothership with two rooms named Fat Man and Little Boy. It anchors the comedy and podcast cluster that follows Rogan's 2020 move from Los Angeles to Austin. Capacity and purchase price are not on the club's site.

Open questions: The club's own history page gives 2023 for the opening but not the March date; purchase price and capacity are undisclosed.
