Method

Songfluencer is founded in Nashville in 2018 by Belmont graduate Johnny Cloherty as the agency that pays hand picked TikTok, Instagram and YouTube creators to build videos around a song and reports the results to labels in real time. Its October 2020 campaign around Fleetwood Mac's Dreams pushes the 1977 album Rumours back into the Billboard 200 top ten, it works with Atlantic, Epic, Sony, Interscope and every major label and with artists including Lil Nas X, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles, and by 2020 it has put more than 100 artists on viral charts. On September 21, 2021 it acquires Preffy, Charlie Davis' contest platform for artist and creator campaigns, and the company later rebrands as Genni with Songfluencer kept as a campaign brand. Creator payout totals and revenue are not disclosed.
