Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal run Mythical Entertainment from Burbank, where Good Mythical Morning and Ear Biscuits are produced. Mythical buys Smosh out of the Defy Media collapse on February 22, 2019 in what is called the first creator to creator acquisition, and sells majority control back to Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla on June 20, 2023 with Breeze Financial funding the purchase, keeping a minority stake while Smosh stays in its own 17,000 square foot Burbank facility. A 5 million dollar Mythical Accelerator fund launched in July 2021 takes stakes in creators including Jarvis Johnson, Daniel Thrasher and The Sorry Girls, with Gwen Miller hired to lead it in December 2023. Mythical's own building size and opening year are not in a fetched source.
