Ed Craven and Bijan Tehrani, founders of the crypto casino Stake.com, launch Kick from Melbourne in December 2022, months after Twitch bans gambling streams. Kick pays creators 95 percent of subscription revenue against Twitch's 50 percent and adds a Creator Incentive Program paying hourly for streamed hours. In June 2023 it signs xQc to a two year deal reported at 70 million dollars with incentives up to 100 million dollars, then Amouranth, Adin Ross and Hikaru Nakamura. Kick has no outside investors and is owned through Easygo Entertainment. It sponsors the Sauber Formula One team in 2025. The August 2025 death of French streamer Jean Pormanove during a livestream brings French legal action and Kick restricts gambling monetization and adds age verification.
