Genius Brands, Andy Heyward's children's animation company now called Kartoon Studios, agrees on October 27, 2021 to buy Toronto listed Wow Unlimited Media, parent of Mainframe Studios and Frederator Networks, in a stock deal reported at about 53 million dollars, and closes the purchase on April 7, 2022. Wow brought 64.2 million dollars of 2021 revenue; Frederator's animation MCN, with more than 1 billion advertiser supported monthly views, stays a subsidiary.
