Method
Jonathan Skogmo, Aldo Carrascoso and Josh Entman start Jukin in a West Hollywood apartment in 2009, finding viral clips, licensing them from the people who shot them for a fee or revenue share and reselling them to broadcasters and advertisers. The clip library funds owned channels FailArmy, People Are Awesome and The Pet Collective, and by 2021 Jukin has paid creators more than 30 million dollars on 8.6 million dollars of venture funding. Trusted Media Brands, owner of Reader's Digest, buys the company on August 12, 2021 for an undisclosed price; the brands continue under TMB.
