Method
Agnes Kozera and David Kierzkowski found FameBit in Santa Monica in 2013 as a self serve marketplace where brands post requests and YouTube creators pitch sponsored videos for a negotiable fee, with FameBit keeping ten percent of each transaction. Google acquires the company on October 11, 2016 to bring brand deals inside YouTube. On June 16, 2020 YouTube renames it YouTube BrandConnect under Lori Sobel and shuts the self serve program, ending the open marketplace model that made FameBit the first stop for small creators seeking their first paid deal.
