Electric Monster Media grows out of Little Monster Media, founded in 2016 by former Channel Frederator executives Matt Gielen and Jake Krengel with Mark Robertson and Josh Zimmerman, and is backed by Metropolitan Partners Group, Heroic Ventures, Creator Capital and Together Venture Partners. It buys legacy YouTube brands and on November 18, 2021 acquires React Media, the Fine brothers' company, for an undisclosed sum in its fifth deal; about 25 React staff join and the Fine brothers step away. On January 6, 2025 Brat TV acquires Electric Monster and the combined company is renamed ZATV under Brat's Rob Fishman as chief executive. Prices are undisclosed.
