Coty buys 51 percent of Kylie Cosmetics in November 2019 for 600 million dollars, valuing the brand at about 1.2 billion dollars. Six months later Forbes reports that the brand's revenue had been overstated, and Coty later takes an impairment on the investment. Kylie Cosmetics relaunches in 2021 with reformulated products and remains on Ulta shelves. Reports in August 2023 say Jenner explored buying the stake back. Coty runs a portfolio review and sale process for parts of its consumer beauty business in 2025 and 2026; whether the Kylie stake changes hands in that process is unconfirmed as of September 2026.
