Method
Clevver grows inside Alloy Digital and Defy Media as a Los Angeles pop culture news brand with hosts Joslyn Davis, Erin Robinson and Lily Marston, funded by YouTube ad share and sponsorships. Defy's collapse on November 6, 2018 puts its staff out of work the same day, and a former Clevver producer files the WARN Act class action a week later. Hearst Magazines buys the channels in February 2019 and relaunches them from a Santa Monica Airport studio with the original hosts; Hearst still lists Clevver in its entertainment division. Founding year is approximate.
