Achievement Hunter starts on July 6, 2008 as a gaming guide site built by Geoff Ramsey and Jack Pattillo inside Rooster Teeth in Austin, and grows into the company's largest YouTube property, a Let's Play crew of a dozen on camera staff whose videos, podcasts and merchandise anchor Rooster Teeth's subscription and advertising revenue for a decade. Rooster Teeth announces the brand's closure on September 18, 2023 and the final video posts on October 1, 2023, seven months before Warner Bros. Discovery shuts the parent in May 2024. The rung that breaks is the parent: the crew's audience survives but the corporate home does not. In July 2024 roughly 4,600 archived videos move to the Achievement Hunter YouTube channel while the talent regroups in independent Austin companies, the Regulation Company and Mikey & Fredo.
