Method

Zach James and Rich Raddon found Zefr in Los Angeles in 2009 as MovieClips, licensing studio film clips on YouTube, sell Movieclips.com to Fandango in 2014 and turn the rights matching technology into RightsID and ChannelID, services that let brands claim, track and advertise against fan uploaded video. On July 19, 2019 Zefr sells RightsID and ChannelID, which earned more than 40 million dollars of revenue in 2018, to Vobile Group for a reported 90 million dollars, and keeps its BrandID contextual advertising platform. It operates in 2026 as a brand suitability measurement vendor for YouTube, TikTok and Meta.
