Tim Stokely founds OnlyFans in London in November 2016 with 10,000 pounds from his father, and creators are paid from launch with the platform keeping 20 percent. Leonid Radvinsky buys 75 percent of parent Fenix International in 2018. On 19 August 2021 OnlyFans announces a ban on sexually explicit content from 1 October under bank pressure and reverses it six days later after creator backlash. The platform reports 7.2 billion dollars of fan spending in 2024, 4.6 million creator accounts and 377 million fan accounts, pays Radvinsky 701 million dollars in dividends in a year, and announces 25 billion dollars of cumulative creator payouts in October 2025. Reuters reports 8 billion dollar sale talks with a Forest Road led group in May 2025. Radvinsky dies in March 2026 and Fenix sells a 16 percent stake to Architect Capital in May 2026 at a reported 3.15 billion dollar valuation.
