DreamHack holds its first North American festival at the Austin Convention Center on May 6 to 8, 2016 with a $100,000 Counter Strike prize pool, returns in 2017 and again on June 1 to 3, 2018, when organizers expect 30,000 attendees and run $100,000 tournaments in Counter Strike, StarCraft II and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds alongside streamer facing Monstercat performances. The festival does not return to Austin after 2018 and DreamHack's Texas event moves to Dallas from 2019, so Austin loses its largest gaming convention a year before RTX also stops. The Dallas move is from general knowledge and is not confirmed in a fetched source.
