DarkZero Esports, the Las Vegas organization founded in 2018 by private equity investor Zachary Matula, buys NRG's esports operations, teams, staff and brand in an undisclosed cash asset sale that closes on December 1, 2025 and is announced on December 19, 2025. DarkZero chief executive Don Kim runs the combined business under the NRG brand and keeps most staff and all players, while founder Andy Miller becomes an adviser and keeps Full Squad Gaming, NRG's casual gaming division, outside the deal. NRG had raised about 40 million dollars since 2016, and the sale follows its 2025 Valorant Champions and Rocket League world titles. Terms are not disclosed.
